We became the No:1 Registered Training Organisation (RTO),
of choice for the Community Services Sector in the ACT by providing
a top quality personal service and experience for our learners and clients.

This means actually encouraging and supporting our learners toward their objectives in a professional manner
that is enjoyable. It means being flexible and delivering courses that meet the needs of our learners and clients
in response to ever changing workplaces and conditions.

There is a lot of  information to absorb about the respective courses, and we’re not going to pretend it’s highly entertaining…actually doing the courses is much more fun. :-)

What’s in here and how to use it

Below you’ll find a list of the ‘Official’ Certificate and Diploma Course Titles that Train4Life currently delivers, plus a couple of workshops and some upcoming courses. The course titles are linked to course outlines in ‘PDF’ documents that you can download. If you do not have an Adobe Reader you can click here to get one, or click on the Adobe Icon in the Footer (below).

Context

This document - Community_Services_Pathways.pdf (39Kb) – provides an overview of the Community Service Training Package Courses in the context of Australian Apprenticeships. It also has a few diagrams that may help you to get some idea of possible industry ‘entry-points’,  ‘pathways’ and connections between certain Community Services Qualifications – download the PDF document Community_Services_Pathways.pdf (39Kb).

Just remember the word ‘flexibility’ and that there are no such things as ‘dumb questions’ (notwithstanding the fact that I just mentioned them…but hopefully you know what I mean :-) ). Train4Life’s reputation is built on our ability to tailor pathways that are meaningful and relevant to your needs and/or your workplace…just ask, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Course Information

As we said, we’re not going to pretend that these ‘Course Outlines’ are highly entertaining. They are simply standard reference points that we have excerpted directly from the official ‘Training Packages’ (if you want to know what a ‘Training Package’ is click here).

Most of the Train4Life courses listed below come from the ‘Community Services Training Package’. If you want to see the entire Community Services Training Package (click here). All Nationally Endorsed and Accredited Training Packages are available from the National Training Information Service (NTIS) website (the complete list is here). The NTIS website is what we and other RTOs use to obtain official and up to date course information. The course information from the Training Packages (via the NTIS website), is what you might consider ‘out-of-the-box’.

“NTIS is the official national register of information on Training Packages, Qualifications, Courses, Units of Competency and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and has been developed for experienced training sector users.”

PLEASE NOTE: Train4Life’s reputation is built upon our ability to deliver Training Courses of the highest quality and relevance that are tailored to learner, workplace and industry requirements in the ‘real world’. The content of our Courses is therefore optimised and not necessarily exactly as it appears in the Course Outlines from the Training Packages.

Course Scheduling

Rest assured that if you enrol in a Course or Courses, you will of course, as a matter of course (really bad puns intended :-) ), receive your own copy of your Course Schedule/s well before your Course/s begin.

For current/other Course Scheduling refer to our new ‘Course Schedules‘ page or our ‘Calendar’ page (see top Nav-Bar above). Here’s that word again – flexibility. Train4Life is small enough to provide responsive, personalised service, but big enough to provide Courses ‘On-Demand’. So again, don’t feel constrained by official documentation…all you have to do is ask. If you have colleagues or know other people that require Nationally Endorsed Training and/or Workplace Assessment and Accreditation, let us know and we’ll build you a course/workplace assessment protocol and do our best to deliver it for you around your schedule (within reason…we don’t operate 24/7 :-) ).

How to use it

Though each Certificate/Diploma Course does have a range of  required/compulsory units, it’s best to use these ‘Official’ Course Outlines as a guide. They provide enough detail for you to assess their relevance to your requirements so you can decide on a likely pathway. Once again, just remember the word ‘flexibility’ and please feel welcome to contact us (or leave a comment, or a forum post), so we can discuss your personal requirements…you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Ok! This is what you can do with the list of courses below:

1) Click on the Course Title below to download the relevant Course Outline in ‘PDF’ format;

2) When you have enough information to begin making your decision/s, come back here and either leave a comment (below), or contact us (click the ‘Contact’ tab at the lower-right of the page), or both, so that we can further assist you with tailoring your learning pathway; and

3) If/when you have decided on your pathway, Course/s and or Workshops, download you enrolment form – Full Enrolment Form for Certificate Courses or Short Enrolment Form for Worshops and Short Courses -  fill it in, send it in (either mail or email are fine), or bring it in and we’ll do the rest (no, that doesn’t mean that we’ll do the course for you :-) ).

  1. Sharon Robson says:

I’m interested in updating my qualifications to the Dipolma of community services coodination as I work part time as a commnuity services trainer. I have looked at the course & I would able able to receive a credit transfer for 6 elective and one core units and RPLs for at least 2 core units due to my other qulifications. I would like to talk to someone about the process involved and whether I could complete the qualification on line or distance education.

    Thanks Sharon Robson
