Hi Folks,
We thought you may have been wondering why we got all excited about our ‘New Dementia Training’ and then…nothing?

We apologise for that and are happy to inform you the reason is far from ‘nothing’…at least not from our perspective. Our Dementia Training has literally gone nuts…
So much so that the first 2 workshops were booked out before we could even get the schedule up here. The 2nd Workshop is actually being delivered as I write this post (i.e. June 1st).
We’d like to thank our new Learners for their overwhelming response and of course for choosing Train4Life. We’d also like to thank our excellent Dementia Specialist Trainer, Debbie Wilson, for doing what she does so well.
Our next Dementia Training Workshop is on June 7th. Don’t even try…it’s over-booked already. But all is not lost.
There is another Dementia Training Workshop scheduled for Monday, 21st June. It runs from 6-9pm and costs $175.00. However, if you are working in the Aged Care and/or Mental Health Sectors, we can obtain funding to cover all but the $25.00 Student Fee.
So here it is again in a more digestible format:
Next Dementia Training Workshop:
What Day? Monday 21st June 2010
What Time? 6-9.00pm
Where? Train4Life Training Rooms – 7/37 Kesteven Street, Florey, ACT, 2615 (Click here for Google Map)
How to Book? Ph: 02 6258 0008 or email us (via the ‘Contact’ tab at the lower-right of this page).
When to Book? Right now if you don’t want to miss out. But don’t worry…if you miss this one there will be more.
How Much? If you are working in Aged Care/Mental Health – $25.00 Student Fee only. Otherwise – $175.00 (but do ask us anyway. We will try to get funding for you if we can)
Resources
See our earlier post/article ‘New Dementia Training’ for some useful Dementia related resources.
And here is a new one:
Dementia – The importance of Early Diagnosis and the Role of GPs (Download Audio Podcast – File Format: mp3, Duration: 54min, File Size: 13Mb)
This is the 2nd in a series of 5 Panel Discussions called ‘The Dementia Continuum‘ presented and broadcast by the Rural Health Education Foundation and sponsored by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing.
If you are interested in viewing/downloading the whole Series for free in Video or Podcast (and/or Purchasing them on DVD – $210.00AUD), just use the links above to visit their website…or click here. You have to register on their website to access these resources…but that is free too.
Here is the excerpted introduction to The Dementia Contiuum’ Series from the website:
“The Dementia Series comprises five health and medical educational television programs on dementia, to support the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing initiative Helping Australians with dementia and their carers – making dementia a National Health Priority (the Dementia Initiative).”
Ok, there you go…we hope that’s helpful…as always there’s more to come.
Cheers
The Train4Life Team
